How it works

Three steps from contract to closed books

No spreadsheet hand-offs. A lease is captured once, calculated by the engine, and posted when someone approves it.

  1. Step 1

    Capture the lease

Dates, payments, escalations, deposits, IDC and the discount rate — with validation that catches gaps before they become numbers.

  2. Step 2

    Calculate

Present value, right-of-use asset, interest and depreciation schedules — one lease at a time or in bulk, in the background.

  3. Step 3

    Approve & post

Approval generates balanced journal entries against your own chart of accounts, and locks that version for audit.

Everything a lease portfolio needs

One engine for every lease you sign — or grant

Dense where accounting needs detail, calm everywhere else.

Lessee accounting

Lease liability and ROU asset at commencement, interest unwinding, straight-line depreciation and short-term / low-value exemptions.

Lessor — operating & finance

Classification, net investment, finance income, straight-lined operating income, deferred income and security deposits.

Variable rent

Revenue-share, breakpoints and minimum guarantees configured on the lease; month-end actuals uploaded from Excel for every lease at once.

Fixed escalations

Percentage or amount step-ups on a repeat rule — "5% every 3 years" — built into the payment schedule automatically.

Modifications & remeasurement

Change the term, rent or scope and Leascape creates a new version, remeasures from the effective date and keeps the old one intact.

Automatic journal entries

Map every transaction to your own debit and credit accounts. DR = CR is enforced, so an unbalanced entry can never be posted.

Bulk calculation

Built for portfolios of 100,000+ leases per company — calculate, approve and act on leases in bulk with a live progress bar.

Reports & disclosures

Maturity analysis, roll-forwards and disclosure reports generated in the background — you get a notification when they are ready.

The signature difference

Every version. Every number. Traceable.

Leases change — rent reviews, extensions, early terminations. Leascape never overwrites history. Each change creates a new version with its own schedule and its own journal entries, so an auditor can see exactly what was known, and posted, on any date.

  • Version-scoped schedules and journals
  • Approved versions are locked, not edited
  • Stale calculations are blocked from approval

Calm & exact, not fragile & manual

Your lease register shouldn't live in a spreadsheet

Spreadsheets work for ten leases. Past that, every close is a reconciliation exercise.

Spreadsheets & manual workings

  • One broken formula silently changes a balance
  • Modifications overwrite the original schedule
  • Journals are keyed by hand, and sometimes don't balance
  • Disclosures rebuilt from scratch every year-end
  • No record of who changed what, or when

Leascape

  • One tested engine calculates every lease the same way
  • Every change is a new version; history stays intact
  • Journals are generated, mapped and always balanced
  • Reports and disclosures generated on demand
  • Draft → approve workflow with role-based access
Security & architecture

Your data sits in its own database. Literally.

Leascape is multi-tenant by design, with isolation at the database level rather than a shared table with a filter.

Database per customer

Each customer gets a physically separate PostgreSQL database.

Encrypted credentials

Connection details for every tenant are stored encrypted in the catalog.

Role-based access

Permissions by module and action; switch lessee or lessor modules off entirely.

Full audit trail

Versioned leases, approval workflow and immutable posted journals.

FAQ

Questions finance teams ask us

Which standards does Leascape support?

Leascape is built around Ind AS 116 and IFRS 16 — lessee and lessor (operating and finance) accounting, including modifications and transition.

Can we run more than one company?

Yes. Each company has its own leases, chart of accounts, journal mappings and numbering, and you switch between them from the header.

How do journal entries reach our ERP?

Journals are generated on approval against the accounts you map, and exported to Excel as a journal voucher file for upload into your ERP or general ledger.

What happens when a lease is modified?

A new version is created from the effective date and remeasured. The earlier version, its schedule and its posted journals are kept unchanged.

How does Leascape handle a large portfolio?

Leases are grouped into Draft, pending and approved workspaces. Calculation runs in the background for a whole company at once, and actions such as approval can be applied in bulk.

Is our data isolated from other customers?

Yes — every customer has a separate physical database. There is no shared lease table between tenants.
